He was made to vomit. Nothing happened, no snake came out – a real snake would come out if it was there. But when he vomited and the snake did not come out, naturally his logic said that the snake had gone deeper: “This vomiting is only happening superficially, the snake must have gone into my intestines.” He tried all the remedies but the doctors were at a loss. An x-ray was taken; there was no snake, but the man was not ready to accept it. He said, “Should I trust myself or your machines? Can’t machines make a mistake? Should I listen to your analysis or to my experience? I can feel the snake moving. I cannot stand, I cannot sit, I cannot eat or drink.” The man went almost mad.
Then he was taken to a psychoanalyst because the snake was not in the body, it was in the mind. What did the psychoanalyst do? He listened to the man’s story and said, “Certainly there is a snake. The x-ray might have been wrong, the physicians may not have understood, but I can see it.” He felt the man’s belly all over and said, “There is a snake, you are right.”
He trusted this doctor. He said, “You seem to be the only wise man in this town.” But the psychoanalyst was telling a lie because if the false is to be eliminated, then there is no other way than to use a false remedy.
Have you ever thought about it? – the false cannot be removed by the real, because the false and the real never meet. How will the snake be eliminated? If the disease is false then never take an allopathic medicine even by mistake, otherwise it will do you harm because the medicine is real.
Homeopathy is right for false diseases; it is a false medicine. It is a medicine of belief for imaginary diseases. So with homeopathic medicine nobody is ever harmed. It may help, but it is never harmful because even to do harm the medicine should be real. They are sugar pills. It is not that homeopathy does not work. It does work, because man is complicated. It is not the speciality of homeopathy, it is the speciality of man’s sickness.
Out of one hundred, ninety diseases of man are false. And for a false disease real medicine is dangerous because the real medicine will do something. If there is no disease it will harm you. If there were a disease it could have cured the disease. There can be fatal results if it is used wrongly. It is a poison. If there were a disease then the poison would cure the disease, but if a disease is not there then the poison will spread throughout your body. So allopathy is not for pseudo patients; for pseudo patients there is homeopathy – and there are more pseudo patients than real patients. So homeopathy should also be advertised in the world along with allopathy, even though it is a false medicine. But what to do? The sicknesses are false. The diseases have not happened to them yet they want to be cured.
So the doctor said, “There is certainly a snake.” He trusted the doctor, he appeared to be wise. He said, “We will take it out. Take this medicine, rest for the night and in the morning when you go to the toilet the snake will come out.”
The man slept all night, unworried. If you find the right doctor then half the disease is already cured. The doctor managed to find a snake, and in the morning before the man went to the toilet he arranged for the snake to be put in the toilet.
When the man came out of the toilet the psychoanalyst said, “Now let us go and see, the snake must have come out.” They found the snake in the toilet.
