"Two things, love and meditation, are enough to prepare the ground, and bliss comes! And only two things, the ego – the mind – and fear are enough to create misery. Fear is the polar opposite of love and mind-ego is the polar opposite of meditation. And
these are the only alternatives. Meditation goes perfectly well – in tune with love.
The mind goes perfectly well – in tune with fear. The mind and fear together
create your misery. Meditation and love together create all that you have
always dreamed of and longed for..... "      Osho

OSHO.com The mandaps which have covered the paths and kept them dry during the monsoon are all removed…and now the sky pours in and everything feels, literally, so light.... The whole atmosphere is cloudless, sunny and clear – with a crisp autumnal wisp in the air. Maybe time for a jacket in the evening?

The meditation resort bookshop, aesthetically designed in black and white, is the place to find beautifully designed Osho books, audio CDs, and video DVDs in Hindi and English and the monthly Osho Times in four languages. There is a computer station where you can download any of the thousands of Osho Talks from
www.osho.com. And of course, there is all the music required for the Osho Active Meditations, plus the soothing healing music composed by Osho meditators. How can one man fill a complete bookstore? You wonder. If the prices of these hard bound books seem to be unbelievably low, it is because, as Osho has requested, they are sold at cost price. And not only that, you can use the meditation resort shipping facility to have them sent to any corner of the world.

On the wall, hardly noticed, is the only public statement Osho makes about the meaning of the name, Osho. Yes, it comes from William James’ word “oceanic,” which describes the experience. “But what about the experiencer,” he continues, “For that we use the word ‘Osho.’” So, with this “experiencer” emerging with every present moment, it is no wonder “Osho” runs as an undercurrent of vibrant silence in all the activities on campus. It permeates even the lush green exuberance created by the monsoon rains.

In this tenth volume of the popular Insights for a New Way of Living series, Osho examines the nature of compassion from a radically different perspective. He points out that “passion” lies at the root of the word, and then proceeds to challenge assumptions about what compassion really is. Many so-called acts of compassion, he says, are tainted by a subtle sense of self-importance and desire for recognition. Others are based in the desire not really to help others, but to force them to change. Using stories from the life of Jesus, Buddha, and the world of Zen, Osho shows how the path to authentic compassion arises from within, beginning with a deep acceptance and love of oneself. Only then, says Osho, does compassion flower into a healing force, rooted in the unconditional acceptance of the other as he or she is. Compassion includes an original, 120 minute talk by Osho on DVD. This visual component enables the reader to experience the direct wisdom and humor of Osho straight from the source.

Remain Detached
Remain Detached
You have to come to a state of consciousness where nothing impresses you, you can remain detached. How to do it? Throughout the whole day the opportunity is there to do it. That is why I say this method is good for you to do. Any moment you can become aware that something is possessing you. Then take a deep breath, inhale deeply, exhale deeply, and look at the thing again. While you are exhaling look at the thing again, but look just as a witness, as a spectator. If you can achieve the witnessing state of mind for even a single moment, suddenly you will feel you are alone, nothing can impress you; at least in that moment nothing can create desire in you. Take a deep breath and exhale it whenever you feel that something is impressing you, influencing you, dragging you away from you, becoming more important than yourself.
