General Background Information

  •
  • What's in this shop?

This shop carries the complete works of Osho.

The way Osho works is as follows: Osho gives extemporaneous talks, which means he simply speaks in a spontaneous way in response to questions and sutras which are presented to him, or any other topic which may be of value to his listeners.

These talks are usually about 90 minutes long and are almost all available as individual audiobooks; many are also available as video recordings. These talks are then transcribed and made available in book form – historically in paper print, and now increasingly in a digital eBook format. Each talk is a part of a series of talks – a book comprises one full series, with each single talk as a chapter. The book is then typically translated into multiple languages; Osho books are currently available in over 60 different languages. Similarly, a talk in video format may be available with subtitles in multiple languages. In summary: almost all the original talks are available as audiobooks, and many are also available as paper books, eBooks and video recordings.

Most titles can be purchased in various formats and from various distributors:

Osho's talks are available as audiobooks, videos, eBooks and books.

Downloadable items, such as audiobooks, music and some eBooks are purchased and downloaded in digital format directly from the shop; for video recordings and some eBook purchases you will be automatically redirected to a different website; for paper books, CDs and DVDs you will be automatically redirected to a local distributor website which will deliver the physical product to your address.

  •
  • How can I search the shop for something specific?

The catalog & search page has been designed to allow you to find specific content of interest in specific formats. There are 6 search criteria to choose from:

"Select product type" allows you to choose the media format (e.g. eBook, audiobook).

"You can choose a topic" allows you to choose from a list of 40 pre-defined topics which were created as a proposed categorisation for the different talks.

"Other preferences" provides a list of other popular classification criteria (e.g. "Recent releases", "Popular titles").

"Enter your own search term" allows you to enter any search phrase of your choice as free text.

"Search in" allows you to choose specific fields to be searched (e.g. Titles, Product description).

"Sort by" lets you choose the criterion for sorting the search results.
