Dear 3am, we've got to stop meeting this way. I'd much rather sleep with you. |
Put like this, sleeplessness is funny, but tossing and turning can be anything but. Here are six suggestions that will help you drift off. |
1. Use Stress Creatively |
“When stress is there use it as creative energy…. Even if sometimes you can’t sleep in the night there is no need to be worried…. Use that energy that is coming up: walk up and down, go for a run, go for a long walk, plan what you want to do, what the mind wants to do. Rather than trying to go to sleep, which is not possible, use the situation in a creative way. It simply says that the body is ready to fight with the problem; this is no time to relax. Relaxation can be done later on.” |

"Meditation is a science, not a superstition. Meditation says that if you experiment with your mind – it is too full of thoughts – thoughts can be dispersed. The clouds can be dispersed and you can attain to an empty sky of your inner being. And it needs just a little courage, a little effort, a little daring, a little persistence and perseverance. A little patience, yes, but no trust – you don’t believe in God? That is not a hindrance to meditation. You don’t believe in the soul? That is not a hindrance in meditation. You don’t believe at all? That is not an obstacle. You can meditate, because meditation simply says how to go withinward: whether there is a soul or not doesn’t matter; whether there is a God or not doesn’t matter. One thing is certain: that you are. Whether you will be after death, or not, does not matter. Only one thing matters: right this moment, you are.” Osho |

Meditation for a More Deeply Refreshing Sleep |
|
“You may not be sleeping well in the night. Very few people are sleeping well, so when you have not slept well in the night you are a little tired during the day….. If that is the case, then do something with your sleep. It should be made deeper. Time is not much of a question – you can sleep for eight hours, and if it is not deep you will feel hungry for sleep, starved – depth is the question. |
“Every night before you go to sleep do a small technique, and that will help tremendously.…” |

Born to a Persian father and Slovene mother, I grew up in London, where I worked at lots of different businesses until existence asked me for a change in lifestyle. More business did not make any sense, for business had started to look like busy-ness. Having been travelling the world I must say that the OSHO International Meditation Resort is the best place I have seen so far in the direction of promoting awareness. It is wide and deep, addressing |

the whole person: physical, intellectual, and spiritual. It is for everybody, male and female, Western and Eastern. There is a wide variety of meditations, courses, trainings. The best way to be here is participating in the 90-day Work as Meditation Living In program. |

In Iran I was a licensed psychological counsellor. While counselling I realized that the therapist and the patient are sailing in the same boat! This realization made me search for existential psychology and then I came across Osho's book Tantra the Supreme Understanding. The book guided me to come to the OSHO International Meditation Resort in Pune, India. Being here I am experiencing that I am not only the body and the mind, but |

something deeper, far deeper. Just take a dive and you will know. |

Eye Gazing – Meditation for Busy People |
|
“Sit and look into each other’s eyes, [it is better to blink as little as possible, a soft gaze]. Look deeper and deeper, without thinking.... |
|
“If you don’t think, if you just stare into the eyes, soon the waves will disappear and the ocean will be revealed.... If you can look deep down into the eyes, you will feel that the man has disappeared, the person has disappeared. Some oceanic phenomenon is hidden behind, and this person was just a waving of a depth….” |

In Love with Life |
|
Perhaps only a contemporary mystic like Osho could truly understand a Western philosopher and mystic like Nietzsche. In In Love with Life Osho shares his understanding of both Nietzsche the man, and of his seminal work, with extraordinary clarity and relevance. |
